Transformation to our Ecocene: Re-learning to walk in the world as if we are nature, with Professor Ioan Fazey, 12th March 2026
In this session we looked at how can we begin to seriously address our existential and separation challenge. In our gathering we explored some of the origins of our human-nature separation and new and emerging opportunities to learn how to relate to others and our world differently. We explored what system science can tell us about how to cohere and align those involved and establish collaborative action that supports a deeper shift in consciousness.
Strategic Adaptation For Emergency Resilience (“SAFER”) with Rupert Read: 12th February 2026
In this session Rupert Read shared the Climate Majority Project’s new campaign for Strategic Adaptation For Emergency Resilience, "SAFER".
Rupert invited us to embrace a spirit of transformative and strategic adaptation and explore how we can all help with the society-wide process of coming to terms with reality; considering how we can make adaptation accessible and how we co-create a new civilization.
This Whole Earth is Family - From Human-Centrism to Eco-centrism: 16th October 2025
In this thought-provoking session led by Sociologist Dr Peter Gardner, we explored the deep-rooted human-centrism shaping our diets, economies, laws, climate goals and outlooks. We examined the alternative: ecocentrism—a worldview that sees all life, from octopuses to oysters, from forests to rivers, from soils to ecosystems – as holding fundamental value. Together, we thought through some of the implications of applying an eco-centric outlook in our everyday lives and across society.
The times are urgent; let’s slow down: 25th September 2025
This quote by Bayo Akamolafe invites us to take the counter-cultural step of allowing a pause. But how do we do this and with whom? This dialogue session offered the space to slow down with others. To sit in circle, reflect and give attention to, what we might not usually acknowledge, and explorw the question: ‘What matters?.. as our ways of being and knowing become insufficient to face the complex challenges of our world’.
