Funding for Projects stemming from the Rob Hopkins Tour

We are really keen that ideas generated, connections/relationships made and that seeds developed have the opportunity to grow.  So we now want to water and bring sunshine to those seeds in the form of funding. The Joseph Rowntree Foundation has provided a pot of seed funding to support you take your ideas from ‘What-If to What-Next’, building on whatever came out of the day.  It is intended to support activity that explores, develops, tests or prototypes ideas catalysed from day. 
Examples might include:

  • Taking a ‘What-If?’ question from idea to prototype

  • Creative response that explores, tests, or communicates the ideas inspired by the Imagination Tour

  • Support for collaborative conversations, workshops or events to help turn imagination into action

  • Support to host events to take your idea to another part of the city

These are simply examples rather than a prescribed approach

The funding can be applied for both if you are a collaborative project involving multiple organisations, groups or partners or a single organisation, although we are particularly interested in supporting projects across organisations.

The fund is £5000 in total, so projects can apply for amounts of either £500 or £1000.  If it is a project involving multiple organisations, groups or partners, one project can apply for multiple pots to support the one project.

Process for distributing funds:

1)      Projects apply for the funding using the form below by (the X date)

2)      Projects will be shared via the Poesis the website and people invited to vote on their favourite. (by the date)

3)      Final decision will be made by a panel of attendees, taking into consideration the votes made online and against the criteria below; in order to share out the fund.

Criteria for the projects
Minimum Criteria:

  • Applied for by those who attended the Imagination Event, although can involve other people in the project

  • Projects are future and/or imagination focused

Desired criteria:

  • Projects that involve multiple organisations, groups, partners

  • Focussed on activity that supports the resilience for the city

Requirements:

There is no formal impact reporting requirement, however we would like to understand

  • What the funding was spent on, what it enabled

  • How the approach has contributed to the ‘What-Next?’ of the Imagination event day.

  • Funding must also be spent within 12 months of receipt
